Welcome to the official digital portfolio of Roy Smith, a contemporary UK sculptor and photographer based in Kent, specialising in site-specific environmental art, currently Artist in Residence, Eaton Lands, Hythe, Kent. 

Sculpting in the environment, be that a quarry, the coast, or woodland, is a distinct aspect of my artistic process. Each of the sculptures here have been made on site, sometimes in less than ideal circumstances. Often they stay where they were created, as with the most recent wood sculptures. My photography is literally painting with light and can, and sometimes does, happen en plein air. All of this work has been made in the past five years.
